China: friends
We journey not only to get to know others, but also
that others get to know us. My host family is at the top of this
montage. They transported, translated, toured. They
opened their lives to me that I get to know them, and Beijing. Meals
were singular occasions for discussions and socializing. They, and
other friends, were ready and willing accomplices to my experiencing the
cuisines of China. They were academics, managers, even a retired
diplomat who conversed with me in French. I even meet the
(Minneapolis) Director of St. Thomas' International Management Program in
Beijing! Each new friend has a special place, special memory for me.
Unfortunately, here the digital photography seemed at its worst.
